One of our employment partners is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager for their massive 500,000 square foot distribution facility.

The Opportunity:
The successful candidate will be an innovative, out-of-the-box thinker who will bring a wealth of logistics knowledge to the position and will be responsible for the successful management of all logistical needs.
Main responsibilities:
- Negotiate contracts with multiple cross-border and international needs for all of their companies
- Drive reports and analysis and provide recommendations of cost-savings opportunities through new vendors, synergies between organizations, and effective negotiations of contracts
- Find opportunities for 24-hour turnaround and optimal, cost-effective freight service for their companies
- Problem-solve all supply chain and freight issues
- Handle tariffs, taxes and appropriate customs documentation for cross-border shipping
- Monitor and manage freight cost to ensure budget is met
- Manage and oversee carrier contracts, rates, processes and standard operating procedures; ensure that all product is routed and delivered within business rules and decisions are aligned with contracted carrier rates
- Identify, anticipate and communicate changing business needs and trends to support the overall business. Encourage team to focus on continuous improvement and empower team to identify optimal operations solutions and build collective partnership with internal and external stakeholders
- Other related responsibilities as required

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field with a strong focus on business, transportation, logistics or supply chain management
- Thorough industry knowledge with a minimum of 5 years of practical experience with North American and worldwide inbound and outbound transportation, with excellent customs compliance knowledge
- Canadian Institute of Traffic (CITT), the Logistics Institute (P.Log) or supply-chain-related designation/certificate is an asset
- North American and worldwide transportation knowledge, including solid understanding of transportation operations, freight costing, and service provider geographical coverage and capabilities in the various transportation modes, industry best practices and transportation industry regulations
- High-level analytical ability and problem-solving skills where issues may be unusual or difficult
- Experience working with a major carrier is an asset
- Ability to work in a high-performing and fast-paced work environment
- Proven ability to stay organized with a heavy and diverse workload
- Strong attention to detail, identifying and sharing continuous improvement opportunities
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Goal-oriented, with growth mindset
- Willing to learn
- Excellent personal skills
