About the Role:
The role as an Estimator is, first and foremost, to ensure that the customer has a very positive experience, especially during a time that may be stressful.
The Estimator is responsible for balancing sales and service activities to maximize revenue and profitability, while consistently striving for customer satisfaction. The Estimator actively and honestly seeks value-added services that will benefit the customer.
The Estimator needs to ensure an accurate repair plan and estimated completion date is provided.
The Estimator manages all communication and contact with clients and insurance partners to ensure transparency and make sure the client is always aware and informed.
The Estimator works closely with the CSR & Production teams and is responsible for providing accurate information to clients in relation to damage, pricing and estimated time of repair.
The Estimator is very detail-oriented and accurate in all of their work and communication.
Job Duties:
- Review damage reports, repair orders and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed.
- Collaboration with production and Body Shop manager to ensure work is on schedule and deadlines will be met
- Create repair estimates for potential clients according to insurance companies’ best practices/guidelines.
- Actively and honestly seek value-add sales opportunities when inspecting the vehicle that will benefit the customer.
- Develop estimates with a focus on projected gross profit.
- Ensure estimate follow-up to maximize closing ratio.
- Collaborate with client experience personnel to ensure exceptional follow-up and service.
- Monitor vehicle production in collaboration with production and parts efficiency manager to ensure timely delivery.
- Closing RO files and tracking job performance in collaboration with Body Shop Manager to optimize profitability.
- Other related tasks as required
Technical Skills:
- Using programs such as Mitchell UltraMate, Mitchell Connect, Mitchell Tech Advisor, OEM Repair Procedures, and MPI policies and procedures.
- Communicate and negotiate with insurance claims appraisers.
- Ability to work well in a team setting, as well as on your own initiative.
- Ability to multi-task and keep organized in a timely manner.
