Position: Electrical Tiers Account Manager

Our employment partner is seeking an experienced Account Manager, Electrical Tiers, for their client in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The client is a global leader in providing innovative fastening and assembly solutions. They serve manufacturers around the world in a range of industries.

  • Tier 1 Experience – What is your experience calling on major tier one accounts and or *electrical tier one accounts? If applicable, what application areas did you focus on? How would you approach generating new engineering contacts and familiarizing yourself with the customer?

(*If you need clarification on “electrical tiers” it is related to electrical wire harness customers, ie Lear, Yazaki.)

ABOUT THE ROLE: Account Manager – Electrical Tiers

SUMMARY

  • Manages the customer relationship for our customers. Represents the company’s products and
  • capabilities to the customer in a professional manner. Coordinates and manages customer
  • requirements and activities within the organization. Acts as customer representative within our company.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Assumes a direct rapport with customers for all issues including, coordinating all contact between customer and our company, including Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Materials Control and Accounting.

• Coordinates and manages customer requirements within our company including Quoting, Sample Submissions (Proto & Production), Engineering, Engineering Projects, and Payments (for your team and your territory).

• Has input to overall forecasting, budgeting and P & L for this product line to elevate and maximize production volumes.

• Increases sales as per Business Plan guidelines. This is to be accomplished through contact with Purchasing, Engineering, and by cultivating new accounts to grow the business.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 3 years of direct sales / account management experience selling highly engineered products.

• Proven track record of steadily increasing sales year after year.

• Proven track record; through awarded business, for providing application solutions for both Metal and/or Plastic core product.

• Demonstrated capability to develop and sustain a strong working relationship with customers internal and external.

• The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Demonstrate professional conduct during stressful circumstances to meet customer expectations and deadlines.

• Highly developed communication skills both oral and written.

• Ability to travel locally and abroad as needed.

PREFERED BUT NOT REQUIRED

• 4-Year Degree in an Engineering discipline preferred or equivalent experience.

• MBA preferred.

• Sales experience in a technical (automotive) product range.

• Manufacturing engineering experience.

• Automotive experience.
